Soap Care

Once you get your new soap home, there are some things you can do to help it last as long as possible:

  • Don’t let it sit in a puddle (any moisture will dissolve soap, even if you are not using it). A draining soap dish or a mesh bag hanging in the shower will help dry your soap between uses.
  • The longevity of your soap improves if you use loofah or wash pouf rather than soaping your body and creates even more lather.
  • Rinse your soap after use to get excess lather off
  • Before use, store your soap in a cool dry place, away from heat and direct sunlight. Under sink is not good because soap can pick up moisture from condensation on the pipes. Some people store it in a linen closet or dresser drawer so the scent can freshen towels or clothing.
  • If you want the bar to “roll” in your hands, use a cheese slicer and bevel the edges of the soap. Put the beveled off pieces in a small muslin or organza bag and use as an instant soapy washcloth.
  • Soap should be used within 6-12 months of purchase.

Since hand-crafted soap has no chemical preservatives, it deserves a special care to insure longest, happiest relationship possible between you and your soap!
